(Just about every time I hear the word "bazaar," I'm tempted to make a joke. But I don't, because that would be bizarre for me.)
I arrived early Saturday morning, and many people had already started eating breakfast before the event began. That's a good sign! As I looked around, I saw the fellowship hall's decorations finally complete. And I must admit, everything looked lovely. The dining area occupied the middle of the fellowship hall surrounded by several specialty nooks: the Bustling Bakery, the Christmas Corner, the Country Store, and the silent auction, just to name a few. The entire room was inviting, warm, and festive.
I was delighted to see so many people working hard to make this a success throughout the week. Thanks to countless hours of labor and the generosity of many people in the community, the Bazaar raised several (and I mean several) thousands of dollars to go directly toward missions. That's super...
Tonight some leaders will gather for a post-Bazaar meeting and begin planning the event for 2010!

Your observations took me back to some great Christmas Bazaars, White Elephants Sales and huge Garage Sales. The White Elephant Sale went for an entire week - it took a lot of people to make it happen, but the UMW took in thousands of dollars. Talked with a friend in Keystone Heights and their's is this weekend. It is a Fri/Sat event. More power to those committed to make these events happen!
